What is Holistic Psychology?
Holistic psychology is a nurturing perspective that embraces the whole human being. The integral approach in holistic psychology represents a fundamental shift in the way we understand and approach mental health. This perspective recognizes that a person is much more than simply the sum of his or her thoughts and emotions. It goes into the essence of what it means to be human, understanding that we are intrinsically connected to our body and our spiritual dimension.
Rather than merely exploring the cognitive and emotional aspects of the mind, holistic psychology looks beyond that. It considers the body's influence on our emotions and thoughts, recognizing that physical and mental health are intertwined in profound ways. In addition, this perspective integrates the spiritual component, understanding that spirituality and connection to something greater than ourselves are essential aspects in the pursuit of wellness.
This holistic approach not only seeks to alleviate symptoms or treat specific problems, but aims to address the roots of emotional and mental challenges, often exploring deeper issues related to the search for meaning, identity and purpose in life. Holistic psychology is a reminder that we are multidimensional beings, and addressing our mental health requires consideration of all of these dimensions: mind, body and spirit.
Holistic Perspective: The Five Dimensions of Being Human
The multidimensional approach to holistic psychology is a perspective that has evolved over more than two decades of experience in my role as a holistic psychologist. This perspective, forged through various therapeutic tools such as family constellations, ancestor healing, enneagram and energy healing, is based on the understanding that we are complex and multifaceted beings.
From holistic psychology, we understand that each individual is composed of several interconnected dimensions. These dimensions include the physical body, the social dimension, the mental body, the emotional body and the spiritual dimension. Each of these dimensions influences a person's personality and life experience, and our work is to explore how they interact with each other.
Body Dimension** - Physical Body: This dimension encompasses everything we experience through our five senses and our physical body. The body is a language in itself, and our emotional and mental experiences are often reflected in it. Connecting with how our emotions resonate in our body is essential.
Social Dimension - Bonding your Physical Body: Our relationships and social connections are a fundamental part of our experience. Identifying how we relate to others, the roles we play and how we feel in these relationships is crucial.
Intellectual Dimension** - Mental Body: Our ability to understand ourselves and the world around us resides in this dimension. Here are our thoughts, beliefs, and our ability to reason and reflect. The way we interpret our experiences is influenced by our emotions and beliefs.
Emotional Dimension - Emotional Body: We are emotional beings, and our emotions are a fundamental part of our lives. There are no good or bad emotions, but how we handle and respond to them can have a great impact on our well-being.
-Transcendent Dimension - Spiritual Body: The spiritual dimension goes beyond the religious and focuses on questions of meaning and purpose. Spirituality connects to each individual's personal experience, which can include connection to something greater than oneself.
By exploring these dimensions holistically, we can understand how they influence our personality, relationships and overall well-being. Holistic psychology seeks to unify these dimensions to achieve deeper balance and well-being.
Remember that our energetic vibrations influence our environment, and the connection between these dimensions is essential to achieving holistic balance and well-being. The holistic approach recognizes that our four dimensions must work together in harmony to achieve a state of well-being and wholeness.
Mind-Body-Spirit Connection in holistic psychology
In the holistic psychology approach, a deep value is placed on understanding how the mind, body and spirit are intricately intertwined and how this interconnectedness exerts a significant influence on mental health and well-being. It is recognized that these aspects cannot be separated in isolation, but operate in tandem, affecting each other in a person's life.
The mind, in this perspective, is not only the seat of our thoughts and emotions, but also an essential component in each individual's spiritual and physical experience. Our thoughts and beliefs influence our emotional health and, in turn, our physical health. The mind can directly affect the body's response to illness, stress and overall vitality.
The body, in turn, acts as a receiver and expression of our mental and spiritual experiences. The emotions we experience often manifest physically in our bodies through symptoms and reactions. For example, chronic stress can lead to physical problems, and repressed emotions can lead to emotional disorders.
Spirit, in the context of holistic psychology, is not limited to religious matters, but refers to the deepest dimension of our existence. It is the place from which we find meaning and purpose in life. Spirituality, in this sense, influences our mental health by providing a base of support to overcome challenges and find resilience in times of crisis.
Holistic psychology therefore advocates an approach that honors the mind-body-spirit connection and considers balance and harmony in these aspects as essential to achieving optimal mental health. Through introspection, therapy and various self-care practices, it seeks to strengthen this connection, enabling people to live more conscious, authentic and healthy lives. This holistic approach recognizes that, by working together, the mind, body and spirit can achieve a state of balance and holistic well-being.

In my practice as a holistic psychologist with over 20 years of experience, I employ a variety of therapeutic tools that I consider essential to achieving deep and lasting transformation in my patients' lives. Biological Decoding of Disease**: This psychosomatic approach allows us to understand the effect of our emotions on the body and how they can contribute to the manifestation of disease. Addressing the emotional root of conditions is fundamental to complete healing.
Counseling: Counselling: is active listening and accompaniment, in my case especially focused on grief processes and times of crisis. I offer a safe space where my patients can express their emotions and find support in overcoming obstacles.
Channeling: Through channeling, my patients can receive messages from their guides, angels, masters or beings of light. This tool provides spiritual guidance and valuable insights for decision making and personal growth.

A case I remember with special love: Overcoming Infertility
*A 23-year-old woman had been struggling with infertility for some time. Medical diagnoses showed no physical problems that would prevent her from getting pregnant. It was then that she decided to seek help from holistic psychology.
During the sessions, her emotions and life experiences were explored. It was discovered that this difficulty in conceiving had deep emotional roots, related to traumatic events in her family and transgenerational patterns of infertility that had been passed down through generations.
In collaboration with the patient, ancestor healing and transgenerational therapy sessions were conducted to release and transform these emotional burdens. In addition, ancestral energy techniques were applied to balance her energetic body, preparing it to receive the new being she wished to conceive.
The result was amazing: after a process of emotional and energetic healing, the woman became pregnant and carried her pregnancy happily to term. This case highlights the importance of addressing emotional and energetic barriers in holistic psychology, not only to achieve conception, but also to live a healthier and happier pregnancy and birth.
