Why we love family constellations and are beginning to do workshops
Published May 20, 2024
In our spiritual journey we've read many books, received a wide range of instruction and done a ton of shadow work but nothing has ever resonated with us as deeply as family constellations.
You are your family
This for us has been the most mind-blowing aspect of my learning. While we are brought up to think of ourselves as separate from everyone else, our reality is that our ancestors live within each and every one of us through our DNA, our belief systems and other, more subtle ways that science can't easily understand.
But over time I've come to understand that the traumas of past generations live on within us, calling out to be healed.
Your family dynamics affect you in unexpected ways
Chronic Illness and Physical Ailments: Unresolved family traumas can manifest as recurring health issues or chronic pain, often with no clear medical explanation.
Self-Sabotage and Procrastination: Patterns of self-sabotage or persistent procrastination may stem from inherited guilt or unfulfilled family expectations.
Relationship Struggles: Difficulty in forming or maintaining healthy relationships can be a sign of unresolved ancestral conflicts or loyalty to previous family patterns.
Financial Instability: Persistent financial difficulties might be linked to past family experiences with poverty, loss, or failure, influencing your financial decisions and outlook.
Addictive Behaviors: Addiction, whether to substances, work, or relationships, can be a coping mechanism for deep-seated family traumas or unresolved emotional pain.
Emotional Blockages: Unexplained feelings of sadness, anger, or anxiety can often be traced back to unresolved emotional wounds within the family system.
Career Challenges: Struggles with career advancement or job satisfaction might reflect inherited family beliefs about success, worthiness, or failure.
Low Self-Esteem and Self-Worth: A deep-seated sense of inadequacy or low self-esteem can be rooted in family histories of neglect, abuse, or unmet expectations.
Identity Conflicts: Confusion about personal identity or cultural belonging can arise from unresolved issues related to family heritage, migration, or integration of different cultural backgrounds.
Unresolved Grief and Loss: Difficulty moving past the death or absence of a family member can be a sign that ancestral grief and loss have not been fully acknowledged or processed.
There is no substitute for healing
Unresolved issues will repeat in a family system until they are recognized and healed. So if you're experiencing any of these issues family constellations is one of the best ways you will find to resolve them. By exploring these deep energies, you can liberate yourself from the invisible bonds of the past and move towards the life you truly desire.
Constellations are a gift to your children
When we heal family issues we not only benefit ourselves but we also free subsequent generations from needing to resolve them. There are few greater gifts you can give to your family than to resolve family traumas through a family constellations workshop.
